Housing Rights Service publishes housingadviceNI, a resource that aims to provide reliable independent housing advice and information to the public in Northern Ireland. The website is supported by the Northern Ireland Housing Executive.
Who we are
Housing Rights Service has been operating in Northern Ireland for almost 50 years. We help thousands of people each year find answers to their housing problems.
Housing Rights Service works to achieve positive change by promoting and protecting the rights of people in housing need.

HousingadviceNI aims to increase the availability of information on housing in Northern Ireland, to help people find the answers to their own housing concerns and to prevent homelessness. In 2012/2013 the site received over 700,000 visits from people looking for information and advice on housing in Northern Ireland.
Get general housing advice
If you would like advice on a general housing issue, you can contact Housing Rights Service on 028 9024 5640 between 09.30 and 13.30 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday of each week. Housing Rights Service closes on all bank and public holidays. General housing advice covers non-debt issues, such as renting privately, dealing with the Housing Executive and finding accommodation.

Mortgage Debt Advice Service
If your issue relates to mortgage or secured loan arrears you can call our Mortgage Debt Advice Service on 0300 323 0310 between 09.30 and 17.00 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and between 09.30 and 20.00 Tuesdays and Thursdays or email us at

Email advice
You can also get answers to more general housing questions via email. One of our advisers will respond to your query within 3 working days. If your query is complicated, it's best to contact our advice servicesby phone or in person.

If you need advice at a time when Housing Rights Service is closed, please use the NI Housing Executive's out of hours service.
