You will only be able to apply for permanent accommodation in Northern Ireland if you meet the rules on eligibility.

I rent from my council

If you are currently a council or housing association tenant you should complete a 'Housing Transfer Form'. If the Housing Executive can't assess you in your home you should fill in the 'Self Assessment Form for Applicants from Outside Northern Ireland'.

I don't rent from my council

If you don't rent from a council or housing association you apply using the 'Housing and Transfer Application Form'. If the Housing Executive can't assess you in your home you should fill in the 'Self-Assessment Form for Applicants from Outside Northern Ireland'.

What happens next?

Return your completed forms to the Housing Executive District Office which deals with the area you want to move to. Your application will be assessed and pointed in the same way as any other applicant.
