Problems with housemates
Attention: open in a new window. PrintE-mail

If you’re living in shared accommodation, such as a house in multiple occupation (HMO), you may experience different problems with your housemates.

If a problem is caused by the difference in personalities between you and your housemates, the solution might be an open discussion about the problem.

If you have a more serious problem where a housemate isn’t paying his/her share of the rent, is too noisy, is threatening you with violence or is harassing you, your landlord, your local council or the police may be able to take action.
